We appreciate the privilege of working in partnership with you as your child takes their first steps on their educational journey into primary school.

Starting school is an exciting and important time for both children and families. Our school vision, “Better Together ~ Mā te mahi ngātahi, ka tutuki”, along with our REACH values of Respect, Excellence, Aroha, Courage, and Honesty, underpin all that we do and guide the way we work with our learners.

Our team consists of Caitlin Horne, who works with our New Entrant / Year 1 children in Kōtare, and Jenny Layton, who works with our Year 1–2 children in Korimako. Kayley Dunn is our wonderful release teacher for both of these classrooms. We are also supported by our fantastic learning assistants.

In Mānuka, we aim to provide a smooth and successful transition into primary school by offering transition visits for all new entrant children and creating a welcoming, supportive environment. We strive to foster our students’ enthusiasm and enjoyment for learning while developing their independence and confidence. We believe that all students are unique and learn in different ways, so we work hard to create learning experiences that cater for all learners and meet each child where they are at. All efforts are celebrated, and children are encouraged and supported as they try new things.

Communication is very important to us, and we welcome you to come and visit our classrooms. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or if there is anything you would like to discuss further.
